What happens during a treatment?
A detailed case history will be taken before you are asked to lie partly undressed on a couch. Warm towels are placed over you and music can be played to aid your relaxation. Before the massage starts, gentle contact will be made initially at your feet, to allow you to get adjust to the contact, before soothing oils are applied to your body . During the treatment you can speak or remain quiet, as you wish, but it is usually better to enjoy silence so that you can experience deeper relaxation and healing touch. After the session, it is advisable to rest to allow the body time to integrate the changes, and to drink plenty of water to flush out any toxins that have been released. Aftercare advice and support is offered, and may include stretching, breathing and relaxation techniques.
